    Some of my philosophy…

Through the clouds the sun will shine,
You will find all things heal with time,
    Time, so precious, so divine
You live, you learn, it’s not a crime
The crime, to live but not to live at all
Please imagine, dream, just do it all
For life is short, don’t waste your time
Realize your dreams, happiness you will find.

  2. [Flash 9 is required to listen to audio.]

Along with my friend Kris Ilano, I wrote this song back in 2005.  The recording is from 7/22/2006.  On 7/21 and 7/22, we spent two full days recording 17 songs from what I would later call “The Sessions.”  This turned out to be the last time that Kris and I would really have that much time to play and record.  The project as is is incomplete.  It lacks percussion, back-up vocals, and other little intricacies.  Here it is “as is” though.  I am posting these songs to share and to remind myself of the unfinished business that needs to be attended to!  ;-\ (serious facial expression)

  3. [Flash 9 is required to listen to audio.]

I wanted to share one of my favorite songs of all time! It’s a French Song about the Champs Elysees Street in France.  Enjoy!

Here are the lyrics and english translation!  I got them from online, so I definitely am not taking credit for someone else’s work.

    English words:

I trotted on the avenue my heart opened to strangers
I wanted to say hello to no matter whom
No matter whom, it could be you, I’d said anything to you
It was enough to speak to you, just to calm down.

On the Champs-Elysées, on the Champs-Elysées
In the sun, under the rain, at midday or midnight,
There s all that you’d ever want on the Champs-Elysées.

You said to me “I was pinned in a basement with fools
Who live guitar-in-hand from dusk till dawn
Then I accompanied you, we sang, we danced
And we did not even think of embracing.

Yesterday evening two strangers and this morning on the avenue
Two in love all dazed by the long night
And to the Star of Concord, form an orchestra with a thousand chords
All the birds at day-break singing for love

  4. Just another day in SF

It’s 3:24 pm on Saturday here in sunny San Francisco.  Yeah…  You heard that right.  The warm rays of the sun are shining down here in this city that is known more for cloudy days than days like today.  It’s a blessing to the people here though.  I didn’t realize it until I moved here, but people really do like it when the sun is out.  Proof is all over the city; in the parks, people are out and about.  They are suntanning, BBQ-ing, jogging, playing that one rope balancing game that I can’t seem to remember the name of it.  What will I do with my day?

I’ve spent the majority of today indoors.  Lots on my mind these days you know.  For awhile there, I’d run away from my thoughts.  Finally, yesterday night, I was home alone with nothing to do but think.  Instead of going out and drinking bunches like I usually do.  I kind of made a breakthrough.  I came to the realization that I must be going through the crisis that comes with almost turning 30.  I’m 28 you know.  29 in about 6 months.  The numbers don’t mean much to me consciously, but maybe somewhere in my subconscious, I’m scared.  I think scared of going down the wrong route, further away from my first true love, MUSIC.  Specifically, the creative aspect of music, songwriting and performing!  Here comes a thought.  Do I continue on this path and specialize, putting more time into something I do enjoy, but don’t love as much as music…OR…Do I say enough is enough, finish school, work and spend my free time devoted to my passion?

I will end my entry with a paraphased quote.  “In order to be there for others,  you have to take care of yourself first.”

  5. Inspiring others

    1.  Inspire others with words of encouragement both spoken and written.

    2.  Inspire others by example.  People pay attention to what we do.  Be a good role model.  A person of character and principle.

    3.  Inspire others by caring.  Make the time to care for your family, friends, and community.  BE GENUINE

    4.  Inspire others by listening actively.  Pay attention to them.  Learn about the people in your life.  Don’t get so caught up in your own life to not remember what’s going on with others.

    5.  Inspire others by being self-confidence!
